Areas of Practice

Damon joined the firm in 2015.  Damon’s practice has concentrated in real estate matters, both litigation and transactions.  Damon has litigated the following issues: eminent domain, title insurance defense, mechanics lien, mortgage rescue fraud, forcible entry and detainer, real estate transaction litigation, foreclosure and breach of contract.  Damon is a Special Assistant Attorney General, representing the Illinois Department of Transportation in eminent domain acquisitions.  Damon has also closed hundreds of real estate transactions for clients.

Prior to joining Keough & Moody, Damon was an associate with Helm & Wagner where he was a member of the litigation team that attained a $31 million jury verdict for its defendant  property owner, the largest jury award in Illinois eminent domain litigation history.  Damon also acted as Vice-President Litigation Counsel for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company representing the company and its insured clients before forming the firm of Hartnett Fisch in 2012.

Education and Admissions

Damon received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 1994.  In 2002 he received a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his M.B.A from the Illinois Institute of Technology – Stuart School of Business.  Damon was a recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence in Copyright Law at Chicago-Kent.
